Framing the Plant
Aerogarden's objective, for which I was employed to design, is to bring the magic of gardening in-home all year-round. The aim is to inspire and enable people to enhance their food, their homes, and their lives through a simple and daily connection to what they grow.

Inspired by a TV screen, this unit is a window into the garden from your desk
Flower Stand
Inspired by picture frames, this table unit blends your garden and cherished pictures
The Process
Aerogarden is keen on exploring new models that challenge conventional notions of materiality, eco-friendliness, form factors, and user interaction. This photo was captured before the final pitch, offering a glimpse into the design process. It depicts the momentous occasion of my first successful creation—a fully functional hydroponic garden—a pivotal step in the journey towards innovation and creativity
Think Green
One approach we considered was "framing" the plant. Just as a picture on a wall is enhanced by its frame, our gardens require a structure to thrive. By framing the plant, our intention is to prioritize the plant itself over the technology. This approach emphasizes the beauty and importance of the plant while ensuring that the technology seamlessly supports its growth
Start to Finish
In the world of design, even the tiniest actions can leave a monumental imprint. Ever found yourself abruptly awake, desperate to slice through cardboard? You're not alone. They say ideas can emerge from dreams, and amidst the scarce sleep of college, this one certainly did. From start to finish, I made sure to harness every fleeting moment of rest, ensuring that even sleepless nights could yield innovative solutions
For the Curious
Creating this product to meet UL standards presented a series of crucial challenges. Ensuring compliance involved overcoming obstacles like passing the tip test and meticulously separating all electronics from the wooden components. Each hurdle was carefully navigated to guarantee the utmost safety and quality of the final design.
Alternative Concepts
No project unfolds in a perfectly linear fashion, and throughout this process, numerous ideas emerged that weren't quite ripe for implementation in this round. Presented here is a glimpse of additional projects, each offering unique perspectives on how Aerogarden can rethink the framing of the plant. These visuals are currently serving as a catalyst for further exploration and innovation in design for the company
